Structured Recruiting Employment Opportunities

Employers hire for entry-level, full time job opportunities through this process. In public accounting, the firms typically hire for are Staff Auditor, Tax Staff Associate, and in some cases an Advisory/Consultant roles. On the corporate side, many of the roles are for rotational programs or an entry-level staff accountant position.

Starting salaries for roles obtained through the Structured Recruiting process vary based on the company, type of role, and geographic location. The average starting salary for UNC MAC students is ~$68,000. This amount is the same for any student, regardless of previous work experience.

All academic concentrations are eligible to participate in the Structured Recruiting process, however, it is important to note that the majority of employment opportunities through the SR process are in tax and audit. You are not required to select a concentration prior to participating in Structured Recruiting, however, you are strongly encouraged to concentrate in whichever service line you accept a full time role in after the process ends. Students are asked to apply to positions within the concentration they will most likely accept a role in (ie: tax concentrations apply for tax positions, audit concentrations apply for audit positions). If you have already chosen a concentration and wish to switch that concentration, you must consult with the Academics & Operations Team. Please note that any changes to your academic plan have the potential to impact your graduation date.
